Pedro Rosales

Peruvian Drum & Culture | Lima, Peru

Musician and Performer, Born in Lima, Peru, and discovered the Cajon at 14 as his main instrument with Master Ernesto Sandoval at the Art Museum in Lima.  Throughout the years, he studied with fellow master Cajon players: Manuel “Manguey” Vasquez, Eusebio “Sirio” Pititi RIP, Braulio Barrera and his mentor Orlando “Lalo” Izquierdo (Founder Choreographer, percussionist & dancer of Peru Negro Cultural Association). From 1995 to 2013 Pedro Rosales co-founded and directed “De Rompe y Raja” Cultural Association with choreographer Gabriela Shiroma. Currently he works with Afro Peruvian Coalition, a group that brings together musicians with vast experience in the genres of the Coast of Peru.
