FINAL DRAFT

“A work is never truly completed, only abandoned.” Paul Valery

The two most difficult words for a writer are “The End,” and for good reason, as the ‘end’ can be never-ending. But for some writers the challenge is simply to finish a piece. Final Draft is a five-week writing intensive that focuses on how to revise a piece from something good to something great, and how to finish a piece that’s been languishing on your desktop for months – sometimes years. Whether you write short stories, poetry, personal essays, spoken word, novels, or screenplays, the principles are the same: Story, characters, worldbuilding, and pacing. Focusing on one task at a time with writing prompts and exercises that push you to make a decision, ‘Final Draft’ will show you how to look at each level of your piece with fresh eyes and new purpose. There’s no point in having an incredible story to tell or point of view to share if you never finish the work. Give yourself a chance, experience ‘Final Draft.’

  • Please note that you will not create new work in this workshop. This workshop is only for writers that have a piece for revision or an unfinished piece of work.

 About Michael French

MICHAEL FRENCH is a director, writer, actor, and inventor of brilliant things, originally from London, England. In an ideal world he would be living in Morocco, have another place in Barcelona, spend three months of the year in Ghana, and have a cabin in the woods where he would go to write. He would meditate every day, practice Tai Chi three times a week, eat Indian food every Sunday, and be fit enough to run a marathon if he suddenly feels so inspired. Mr. French is currently writing his first collection of short stories entitled, 'Babble.'
