ABOUT

Learn how creative entrepreneurs can legally leverage the digital space to grow their business. We will be discussing IP basics, Business basics, NFTs and, trends vs sustainable systems. This workshop is catered to Black, Indigenous and Folks of Color who are creating art and content and using the digital/internet space; content creators, influencers, people using social media or the internet for marketing their products/services; and looking for affordable business/legal solutions.

Ohanele Law Firm

The founder of Ohanele Law Firm, Chinwe Ohanele, Esq. has dedicated her skills to supporting creatives and entrepreneurs for nearly a decade. Licensed in New York, New Jersey, and California, Ms. Ohanele couples her keen perspective on the law with a love for creative enterprise to advise creative entrepreneurs not just for their business today but for the legacy they are building for tomorrow.

Chinwe is an astute business-legal strategist and attorney. She has worked extensively on frameworks necessary to support Pan-African media initiatives and creative entrepreneurship. She has worked with influencers, creative entrepreneurs, and governmental agencies in the US and on the continent of Africa.

Additionally, Ms. Ohanele provides consultancy services around media and entertainment best practices and policies for emerging markets on the continent of Africa. She also runs trainings and workshops on various intellectual property issues.

Afro Urban Society/Sufferhead Academy

Afro Urban Society is an incubator and presenter of Afro-Urban performing and visual arts, culture, media, and social discourse. Since 2005, we’ve created more visibility and opportunities for creatives of African descent. We uplift emerging talent through productions, workshops, incubation fellowships, mentorship, resource mapping and cultural engagement. We envision a Black-led, self-determined, and vibrant arts and culture ecosystem. Our project, Sufferhead Academy is a series of creative and artistic industry workshops for the culture.
