Saoirse-Naomie Weaver: Bay Area-Based Creative

BIO

My name is Saoirse-Naomie Weaver, and I am a 27 year old multi-ethnic creative from San Francisco's Mission district. I come from a artistic family and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! I feel grateful that through my work in theater I can continue to be a part of the Bay Area's beautiful and thriving art's community.

Why are you participating in the Lit From The Black! 2024 fellowship

I would like to be part of this fellowship because since participating in 2019 I think I have had an incredible shift of perspective. I would like to participate with that new lens and experience what knowledge that will offer. As someone who is now working in the performing arts realm I would love continual training/support/ and community. In addition, I recently became the technical director at the Brava theater and would like to gain more training so that I can feel more confident in that role. I don't have the time or money to go back to school at this moment and I think this would be a great opportunity to refresh my knowledge as well as learn even more.

“I was so happy to receive the email that this is happening again! Truly an amazing program!” - Saoirse-Naomie Weaver
