I will be performing original songs composed by me with a live band; where the lead guitar will have a musical romance with the drum set, the talking drum, the “Gangan,” will speak with the voice of proverb to the Keyboard, and the Sekere “shakers” will swing it beads to the Rhythm of the music. The use of the spoken word, dance drama, and music in conjunction with African Americans and other African countries will be incorporated. There will also be a place for interaction with the audience where I will share my Yoruba heritage and customs through the language used in my composition. The Audience will also learn some dance moves put together by dancers with an African-American heritage and dancers with a Continental African heritage.
