Dancers: Please be warmed up and ready to dance when call begins. All dancers will dance barefoot. Please prepare a brief nursery rhyme, song, chant, rap, or poem of your choice, to be sung a cappella.
Actors: Please bring a 2 minute monologue of your choice. Please prepare a brief song, chant, rap of your choice, to be sung a cappella.
Seeking (note: All characters are Black, African, or mixed race of African descent):
Dancers: Must be able to play authentically African or Afro- American/Caribbean/European. Character’s age may be anywhere from youthful to Elderly. Must be able to dance well enough to handle choreography and freestyle dancing in a wide range of Afro Urban/Street/Party/Popular Dance, including Afrobeats, Dancehall, Rumba, Samba Reggae, Kwaito, Soukous, Afro/House, Hip Hop as well as technical/classical forms Rhythm Tap, Jazz, Gospel, Capoeira and Traditional forms of various African Ethnicities. Performers will embody characters from various storylines and through different eras from 1910 to 2030.
Actors: Must be able to play authentically African or Afro- American/Caribbean/European. Character’s age may be anywhere from youthful to middle-aged. Performers may do solo vignettes, duo or ensemble scenes. Performers will embody characters from various storylines through different eras from 1910 to 2030. Must be able to do authentic dialects/accents and mannerisms from specific or various African, Afro- American/Caribbean/European. Able to improvise. Ability to sing, in any Afro popular/folklorics styles, sometimes multi-part harmony, a plus. Performers must be familiar with - or have a feel for Afro Urban/Street/Party/Popular Music and Dance, including Afrobeats, Dancehall, Rumba, Samba Reggae, Kwaito, Soukous, Afro/House, Hip Hop music.

Get all wrapped up in a hot blooded frenzy of dance, storytelling, video, afrobeats, soca, hip-hop, blues, dancehall, rumba, soukous, and electrifying visuals! A trail of personal stories will guide as we swivel along a timeline of Afro Urban culture from its birthplace on the cities of Africa, to the beats on the streets of Black America and the world. Ain't no mountain high enough as we raise the roof and raise the questions "Where did we come from?" "Where are we going?" When will we arrive?!"
